For those apartment-ites who aren't too crazy about museums, what really reels them in are the exhibits, especially the interactive ones. Boasting a collection that would rival the Philadelphia Franklin Institute, the Miami Science Museum features animatronic dinosaurs, astronaut video games (with learning aspects) and a wildlife section. There's also a planetarium, which, yes, does provide the cheesy (but awesome) laser light shows, in addition to the observatory sessions and

star-gazing podcasts.

The museum has a function hall that can be rented for private events, and also encourages members of the public to "adopt" a bird-of-prey. For kids, the museum offers an overnight camp-in inside the planetarium, which feature themes ranging from CSI Museum to Dino's Den (don't you wish you were a kid again?). The museum also offers interactive workshops for adults, including classes on physics, computers and mathematics.

Apart from this, though, the actual standard exhibits are a little bare, and the focus is more on making this a museum for people who normally hate museums. Admission is only $10, and the planetarium is open from 8pm to 10pm on Fridays.
