Because it is a Miami/Dade County Park, there is an admission fee for residents of Matheson Hammock Park apartments of $5 per vehicle and $10 per RV. This can also give you confidence; however, that it is a great haven for family and friend get-togethers where you may rent picnic pavilions. The restrooms are relatively clean (maybe compared to your Miami apartment bathroom) and the beach is cleared of trash and mess often.
Many wind-surfers like to dock here, so it's an enjoyable sight to watch them while lounging on the sand.
