The metrorail is one of those unique transport systems Miami apartment-ites can boast about having in their hometown. Why? Because it's quicker than the bus, cheaper than a taxi, and less taxing on your hooves when you're hot-footing it to and from your apartment. Covering 22.4 miles from Medley to Kendall, a ride anywhere costs just $2. The metrorail is one of just two rapid transit systems in the US

(the other being in Atlanta).

For the most part, the metrorail cars are clean, fast, efficient and not too noisy. Services are usually ever 5-8 minutes, and being at an elevation, there's no other traffic to cause delays, making the system extremely reliable. The last service is around midnight, but some replacement buses do operate, although on a pared-down schedule of stops.

The only negative is that the metrorail only runs from north to south, but the elevated view of the city more than makes up for its limited transit system. Plus, it's easy to transfer to the bus services (which are more reliable than in other cities), and this only costs 50 cents. All in all, a better alternative to driving, particularly if you live or study downtown, and for vacationing apartment-ites, the metrorail also stops at the airport.
